Introduction
Iron Bells Tangyuan Ice is currently run by the third generation owner. "Copper Bells" is the nickname of the second owner Jin-sheng Wang, and this store was founded by his father Mu-mien Wang in 1950. Its original location in front of the Railway Hospital, which is why it was also once called "Railway Hospital Tangyuan Ice," but later it moved to its current location across from the Railway Hospital.
Offered here are not only foods that are icy, but also those that are hot and warm, such as the adzuki bean and tangyuan soup, the peanuts and tangyuan soup, and boiled grass jelly. As for the frozen foods, there are Sanbao (consisting of three seasonings), Sihbao (consisting of four), Wubao (five), and Babao (eight), so if you order Sanbao you get to select three seasonings of your liking, and for Babao you get to select eight. The owner has excellent memory, who was able to remember everything we, a pack of ten persons, ordered.
Seasonings include tangyuan, red dot jelly, adzuki beans, kidney red beans, mung beans, grass jelly, yam balls, taro balls. The tangyuans served here—soft on the outside, chewy but not sticky on the inside, and absolutely tasty—is what helped put the store on the map. The owner is a man of few words, his wife a bit shy, and most of the questions were answered by the owner.

Reflections
I think the previous owner’s wife was really nice, and I hope they can keep making delicious tangyuan ice. Drop by and give it a try if you have the time!
Copper Bells Tangyuan Ice is across from the Railway Hospital, next to A-hue Plain Noodles. My mother took me here on several occasions, and told me that she and my father would come here to have tofu puddings and adzuki beans and tangyuan soup. She said that the previous owner and his wife were both very nice. Though personally the overall flavor was a bit too sweet, it was still pretty good. Their tangyuan are all handmade, and taste so good one would feel compelled to have a second.
