Brick Wall of Tipsy Tavern
Entering Xiaoxi Lane, across from Sanhe Hotel is an archaic wall of red bricks, the relic of Tipsy Tavern (see map 
), one of the most renowned taverns of Changhua during the Japanese occupation period. Tipsy was a two-story, architecturally Western building with arched windows, and was torn down in 1969 with the end of its business, but for unknown reasons only this brick wall remained. Ownership of this wall transferred into the hands of Wen-huan Su, the first owner of Red Leaf Hotel, but as he had no plans for the wall, it has been left standing there intact to this day.
Old photos down the memory lane
This brick wall as become a new tourist attraction of Chang-leh community. In May of 2007 the Xiaoxi Cultural Association held the event “Locals Growing Hand in Hand with Xiaoxi—Old Photos Down the Memory Lane,” in which retouched old photos from the locals were selected and decorated on the brick wall. The pedestal of every picture frame exhibit a distinguished style: they are, in accordance with the Xiaoxi spirit recycle and reuse, all made from discarded old school desks, and are all inscribed in Chang-in Fine Machinery with characters which read “Xiaoxi Reminiscence Album.”
